A 2007 Adventure In 2007, I embarked on an unforgettable journey to the mesmerizing landscapes of Meghalaya, a place where every corner held a unique charm and natural beauty. My trip began in Shillong, often referred to as the "Scotland of the East." We reached Shillong Peak, the highest point in the region, and the view from there was breathtaking. The city sprawled beneath us like a scene from a fairytale, with mist floating over the hills. Nearby, the serene Elephant Falls cascaded down, offering a perfect introduction to the region’s lush greenery and the vibrant atmosphere of the Khasi hills. We explored the tranquil paths of Upper Shillong Forest, immersing ourselves in the cool, refreshing air of the forest. Lady Hydari Park was another serene stop, featuring manicured lawns and blooming flowers, alongside a small zoo that captured our attention.
